Are you _sure_ it isn't working? My Inspiron 6000 uses the same b44 driver
and I see exactly that behaviour. The interface rarely comes up on the
first try, but it retries (as yours did) and yours appears to be working.
If it remains a problem, use ifplugd, which will reliably bring up the
interface when the b44 settles down.
