running scripts while login and logout

You can do sudo gedit /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default.sample
and Save it to Default
if you want to do something simple, and
sudo gedit /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default

If I knew what you wanted to do then I could help you with
the script.
