Installing Ubuntu in a HP pavilion a522n

Hello all:

I'm trying to install Ubuntu in a HP pavilion a522n but I fail. I
managed actually to install it but I can't manage to run it.
First if I don't set apci=off before the install screen, then the
computer will just reboot after trying to boot the kernel.
Once I'm done installing that I try to boot for the first time it just
reboot. I added noapic, nolapic but still it will reboot. The best so
far is when I use the option apci=off and it Ubuntu boots the kernel but
after that it locks when activating and detecting new hardware. Any help
or ideas on this issue will be very welcome. Thanks a lot.
