Okay, just to clarify, your advice, to avoid conflicts if I share the /home 
directory, is for my Ubuntu username to be different from the Mandriva 
username (e.g., not use "chuck" in both), or are we talking about a more 
subtle difference?  I *said* I needed dumbing-down.  :-)
