iPod / Amarok / Buffer I/O Issues

Ignore my previous post - I missed off the --initrd flag when building
the package.  Having corrected that, I've now booted into my new
kernel, which supposedly now no longer has EFI support, but I still get
the same error.  The text from dmesg has changed slightly, but the
Buffer I/O error remains.  It does suggest 'Driver 'sd' needs updating
- please use bus_type methods', I'm not sure what that means.  I also
still get a hang when attempting to transfer music.  Is there any way
to tell for certain that my current kernel does not have EFI support?
