USB mouse not working upon bootup

I should reboot several times to confirm this, but I'm going to be
optimistic and say *it's working again* (usb trackman mouse after boot
up no longer requires unplugging and replugging for it to work).  



I suspect (really I don't know if this suspicion is true) that the
patch I just saw when apt-get upgrading today
(xserver-xorg-input-mouse)  fixed it, 

although that patch's 'changelog' (http://tinyurl.com/zz57p) doesn't
mention the 'bug report I filed'
(https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/50638), but rather a
'different one' (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/20445).  



I'll return to this thread if it stops working again, but for now, *-my
colossal appreciations to the developers that make and maintain this
beautiful software system!-* :KS
