Ubuntu distro needs a patch for LVM

I guess I may have tried kubuntu also, and I may have tried to install

over existing LVM with one of the non-alternate discs.  It's been a

while since I started this whole process, so some details are fuzzy.

So it works for some and not for others.  There are known bugs.
