xine can't find xvid, mpeg codecs

Hi all,

I just did a fresh install of Dapper. When I try to play an .avi file
with xine, it complains that it is an unsupported format (either XviD
or mpeg layer 2/3). I have libxvidcore and libmpeg1 packages installed
along with xine-ui and libxine. What else could be missing?

Xine was working fine under Breezy and Dapper FL6 from a month ago.
