Just make sure that you don't allow remote logins... This is disabled
by default, I believe. While autologin is safe enough for a desktop
machine, it's just one of those things that is inherently insecure,
and I never recommend anyone do it (unless it is for a machine for
public use, e.g.).
That said, I don't think that it is really a major security threat if
you are just using the machine for yourself.
