Dual cores not showing with kernel-686

In about 2 days I am going to build a Pentium Dual Core based computer
from scratch.



Based from previous posting and my own investigation since a few days I
have come to the decision to install the x86 version of Ubuntu just
because lot of applications like RealPlayer etc are not available for
AMD64 version yet.



Also it is very saddening for me that good news site like MSNBC & CNBC
wont work with any other browser than IE.



However maybe the problem you had was, you may not have REBOOTED the
system after installing the i686 kernel....was that the case?



Kindly summarize your installation in one more posting. It will be very
helpful.
