On my notebook I did a fresh Dapper beta install a few weeks ago.
I'll still do a fresh fresh install when I get around to it.  Sure,
I'll copy the files I created in my home directory, but I will let the
other dot-files come as they will and manually customize things again.

Doing upgrades is a very tricky technical problem.  A reinstall from
scratch avoids any bugs in the upgrade.
