It should play in dapper with the following packages:
totem-xine
libxine-main1
libxine-extracodecs
If not, it's likely that the file's b0rked.
It might be possible to play it totem-gstreamer along with all the
libgstreamer0.10-bad libgstreamer0.10-bad-multiverse
libgstreamer0.10-ugly libgstreamer0.10-ugly-multiverse
It should be possible to play it in windows after installing the xvid
codecs http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/
