NetworkManager & wifi

Hi all,
I've just migrated from OpenSUSE 10.1 to Kubuntu Dapper. I liked the
NetworkManager applet in SuSE so I installed NetworkManager to Kubuntu
as well. After reboot and relogin the NM daemon is running and I have
the applet icon in status bar. However only "Wired" (ethernet)
connection appear in the menu. I can't see any wireless ones. Actually
the "wireless" section isn't there at all in the pop-up menu, just
"Wired" one.
OTOH Wireless assistant shows me all available networks and lets me join
the one of my choice so it isn't a problem with my card (fwiw it's
RaLink rt2500, but I had the same issue with Atheros-based one as well).
How can I configure NetworkManager to let me manage all my connections
in one place just as the one in SUSE does?
Thanks!
Michal
