Keyboard layout under LiveCD?

It simply doesn't work under the LiveCD. I can set the german Keyboard
there, but nothing actually changes. Even if I remove the US keyboard
setting, the gnome keyboard selector in the top panel shows nothing
but "USA". 


Seems to be a bug in the LiveCD.
