Don't use 'mount', but instead use 'pmount' (see "man pmount" for
details) without 'sudo'. To unmount, use 'pumount'. On the System -->
Preferences --> Removable drives and media dialog, you'll find settings
for auto-mounting of USB media. The drive should show up in the
'Computer' location of Nautilus if things are working correctly, and
should also open a browser on it if you set that.

I have the Olympus DM-10, and it works just fine. I can drag .wma files
off of it onto the desktop, and vice versa. It will not, however, allow
me to put music files into the music folder and play them. Apparently,
it requires a special tool to generate it's index.
The recorder has several audio quality settings. On the lowest setting,
it uses a proprietary file format that I am unable to convert or play
back on the computer. The medium and high quality settings create .wma
files, which can be played by 'mplayer', or converted to .ogg using
'mplayer' and 'oggenc'. A script for doing so is attached.
