I asked this same question about a month ago, no help yet.

It seems that Gnome just can't handle some of the keybindings, I've
discovered that at least win+l, win+e and win+p (if I remember
correctly) just wont work.

I'd appreciate someone trying to bind win+l to lock screen and win+e to
'show home folder' (or smth) so I know if I should make a Gnome bug
report about this.

I use xbindkeys (install with 'apt-get install xbindkeys') to handle
those important keybindings that Gnome can't handle.
