[Dapper]Kubuntu's Adept Mgr: No GUI

When I clicked on the update icon a GUI appeared momentarily, then quietly 
committed suicide.  Next, when I attempt to load Adept Pkg Mgr in Kubuntu 'ps 
aux' shows it as running w/pid but there is no GUI.  Killing the process & 
trying again did not help. (BTW: There is a way to get the available pkgs to 
display, but I forgot to write down the cmd. :-\  Could someone post it 
again? Thnx!)

Anyone else having this prb or have a solution??
