On a related note: I would like to get hibernate to work on my laptop
again. I understand the only way to do this is to download the kernel,
patch it, and compile it. I don't mind doing this. I've done it many
times before, but this time I would like to stay within the Ubuntu package
system. I am currently running an Ubuntu approved kernel (the one that
comes down with linux-image-686).
How difficult is it to take the latest Linux sources and build a custom
package with them? Can I just copy the .config file and run makeoldconfig
on it and get all the drivers I need or will there still be some missing
drivers that come with Ubuntu and not with the vanilla kernel? How do I
find out what drivers I will be missing?
I'm thinking about doing this sometime next week if I can find the time.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
