Printer rename on Gnome in Breezy

I had the same problem with renaming to a more user-friendly printer
name.  I am using the Gutenprint printer drivers and this leads to an
enormous name for the printer which Wine and Windows cannot cope with. 
I just successfully set up the printer with my choice of name using the
CUPS web interface at http://localhost:631/. 



I don't know if this will work for you because it is supposedly
disabled in Breezy, I am using Dapper, but it can't hurt to try.
