Ok - so Dapper uses a compleately different way to initialize the network
cards. One thing I noticed is that under Dapper I see an additional log
statement saying my network card is being put into half duplex mode. Which
doesn't sound good...
Have you tried to start pppoeconf once again when dapper is running?
Yep - first thing I tried. Subsequent runs of pppoeconf fail to find the
access concentrator and abort - unless I powercycle the modem. Then it'll
find it - connect, timeout, and repeat the cycle.
Using dapper my network card eth0 in breezy became eth1 in dapper and eth1

In this instance I only have the one eth device.
