Of course it happens. My prime rule when buying hardware is to _never_ buy
anything that I don't already have explicit instructions from somewhere for
enabling under the Linux distro I'm using at the time. You'd have the same
problem with Windows if it wasn't for the fact that _all_ the hardware that
isn't Mac specific was designed to run on Windows.
