The xutils package in Dapper.

I just fired Synaptic and reloaded the package info. One of the
packages noticed that had an upgrade available is xutils.

Not being familiar with it, I checked out the description which reads:

X Window System miscellaneous utility transitional package
This package smooths upgrades from Ubuntu 5.04 ('Hoary') to Ubuntu 5.10
('Breezy') by ensuring that most miscellaneous utilities traditionally
shipped with the sample implementation of X are installed. For base X
clients, see the xbase-clients transitional package.

So I have to ask, why is this in Dapper?

Curiously,
