Thunderbird and default web browser

I have been looking for a solution to change the default web browser when clicking on a link in an email.  Using GNOME I made the change of my default browser there to Opera and when clicking on a html files it opens correctly in the proper browser.  However when I  am in Thunderbird I get the KDE conquerer browser.  

I have been looking all over the place and can't even find anything.  The things/places I have looked are:

$ gconf-editor  #no such luck

$ grep -r konquer .mozillia-thunderbird  #also no luck


I am kinda of at a loss.. thanks for any help in advance...
