I have also the newest updates installed on my breezy, firefox says
that is version 1.0.8 at it's about window and I do not face any of
these problems.
Maybe it is a configuration problem. Try to delete your whole
~/.mozilla/firefox/ directory after you have copyed it somewhere else
for backup and then run firefox. It will recreate all the
configuration using the default options... If firefox work properly
this way you can restore your bookmarks by copying the bookmarks.html
from your backup to the new profile.
