Let's not confuse having a shell installed with having a link to a 
terminal on the Applications menu. These are totally different things. 
Of *course* my Ubuntu has shells. In addition to bash I've also 
installed zsh, and that's what I use. But this has nothing to do with 
whether there is a link from the Applications menu.
