Printer recommendations

hold your horses...

i am also from south Africa & i have an epson stylus c63, ink jet printer, 4
cartridges. black blue cyan magenta, with a bulk ink feed system, that i got
@ the rand Easter show last year. it was 1000ZAR just for the printer &
400ZAR for the bulk ink feed system.
for each color there is 100ml of ink, so that's not bad.

maybe ask if your printer that you have orderd also supports the bulk ink
feed system.

Chinese...

so i attached a picture so that you can see what it looks like
(the pictures i took with a Nikon coolpix 7600 @ the lowest resolution so
that the files would be small)

i also have a hp Laser Jet 1012 printer

both printers are usb
so i hope that helps you a bit more

now i have a question to ask. i have moved to ubuntu from trying out a whole
bunch of distros. (suse 9.1, suse 9.3, suse 10.0, fedora core 4, debian31r1
,Slackware 10.2....)

both of my printers are connected to my dad's PC in his room & i normally
have no problem getting them set up. but in ubuntu when i go to system >
admin. > printing it takes for ever to load & then eventually pops up with
an error. "The CUPS server could not be contacted" so obviously there is
something wrong.

how can i fix this?
