Compiling gnome

Hi all
I want to build gnome from scratch, but i'm not sure what packages i need.
'sudo apt-get build-dep gnome-desktop-environment` gets four
dependancies - presumably whats needed to make the metapackage. other
then going and copy/pasting out of gnomes dependany lists, is there a
way to apt in all needed depends?
