preseeded install of Ubuntu 5.10 always asks for screen resolution

Folks

I'm trying to fully automate the installation of Ubuntu on workstations 
in a training room but the installer keeps popping up the "Configuring 
xserver-xorg" screen asking for confirmation of the screen resolution. 
I've tried various combinations of the preseed xserver-xorg variables 
but no good. Don't care how the X Server is configured initially, I can 
fix it later on with Cfengine.

Has anyone managed to preseed to avoid the "Configuring xserver-org" 
screen? If so, how?
