SIOCGIFFLAGS error:

Have upgraded and installed ubuntu 5.10 amd64 bit linux,
and have fix a few things, that are not working . sound, and 
source.list, and apic error...

Now, I get a this kind of error SIOCGIFFLAGS error
here is some output, please note: Internet works fine, it just
that the icon for Ethernet has a minus sign across it, and when
I click on it get that error, but in the network control panel,
its all configured well (dhcp).
