So every time I open an already existing file, it will waste disk space
and put a copy of it in ~/Documents/Text ?
This also keeps me from organising my data the way I want to.
My text files are scattered all over ma home partition, as required.
Having all of them in one place would make no sense and make my life a
nightmare in practise ! :-O
For example, when I develop software, all the source files are in one
directory, which is under revision control, and I don't really fancy
polluting that with unrelated files.

Yes that would be more practical, but then that would remove the whole
(or main) point of this program if I understand you well...
