how is suspend-to-disk supposed to work?

any of you (the ones for which suspend doesn't work) have acpi on in their
kernels?

I force that on in my own laptop and it works fine for me:

in grub's menu.lst:
# kopt ... acpi=on

Perhaps is just because this laptop is an IBM Thinkpad (R51 model) which is
a well supported by Linux distros.

Everything works for me. Even the wireless stuff.
