Problems with Gnome session - unable to start gnome - Gnome User Config Files

Hi list,

I've got some problems with my gnome session since a couple of days.

As an effect, I'm not able to run gnome anymore after I've started the 
theme manager unsuccessfully. Clock was killed at that time - and there 
were also some problems with the panel...as far as I remember

Now, I would like to set every user-specific config file to default, to 
run gnome again.

My question:

Which config files are necessary to be changed?

BTW: Are there equivalent experiences out there - any idea for the 
reason of my destroyed gnome session?
