Apache 1.34 don't like my images directory

I setup a virtual host in my kubuntu. I made a simple website consisting of

index.html
images

Apache does not like to have the directory named images. It does not
find the images. Everything works ok if I rename the directory from
images to img, images or anything else provided the I change src tag
of the image to right directory.

Is the word images a reserved word for apache. How can I make apache
find images in the images directory.
