I dispute that Sounder is OT (Off topic) : the topic is still very much
Ubuntu, and Linux/FLOSS/OS developments in general.
Like I'm looking for a great turkey recipe, but I'm not sure Sounder is
the place. :)
The main problem with Sounder is its outrageously high signal to noise
ratio. (high signal, low noise, mind): Every time you post something a
bit on the cheeky or frivolous side that you think is kind of smart,
some ueber-experienced Ubuntu wizard, if not Mark Shuttleworth himself,
jumps out of the woodwork with a concise, spot on analysis and
background of what you thought was a smart observation, quotes a link to
a wiki or bug page that outlines the issue and decision-process in depth
and generally takes all wind out of the sails of any 'harmless banter'
type discussion that might otherwise be a fun prospect.
So beware, it's disappointing for mere banter. :)
Cheers,
