To be clear, "stable" refers not only to the included software, but
the distribution as a whole.  The idea is that the Dapper you
installed on release day is the Dapper you install today, and the
Dapper that you will install 3-5 years from now.  While there are of
course patches to that software, the software selection will remain
the same for the entire duration fo the release.
