You are right, it does not.  however, if the OP is on a dial up 
connection, I thought it might be helpful to supply a gnome 
alternative.  Hopefully there would be less dependencies to download.  I 
have used neither app in ubuntu, so I can't push one over the other as 
far as usability.   And I did mention "universe", by the way.
