pure-ftpd-mysql don't work with md5

I installed pure-ftpd-mysql,and it can work with
MYSQLCrypt cleartext
very well. But if I change it to md5,and chose MD5 in mysql ,I can't
login my pureftp.
Why?How to resolve?
