Thanks for the reply, there was no screen section in Desktop/Gnome....
Unfortunately can't figure it out now and have no time available to
work on it, ended up installing Mandriva instead for now, ATI works
fine there on the LCD at 1600 x 1200. I'll have to wait until the
Christmas break to try to install Ubuntu again, maybe that will give
me enough time to work it out.
Pity...
