Hello,

I have a USB Logitech desktop microphone. I'd like to use it for
recording podcasts using Audacity. The same microphone works on Windows
and Mac without installing any kind of driver. But I don't want to work
on Windows and mac. I've come across a couple of sites that refer to
either editing or recompiling certain files, but I don't know how to
start or where to even find these files or what they are named. In
other words I'm still very much a newbie when it comes to recompiling
driver files to get things to work.

What I have:

1.A G3 Blue and white "Clamshell" iBook
2.I am working with Ubuntu 6.06
3.Audacity
4. I work in the Gnome desktop environment
5. I know basic linux commands and can get around pretty well in the
command line.

Thanks
