I'm trying to install enough of vmware on my Ubuntu 6.06 laptop to run a
Windows XP vitrual machine. I found: http://tinyurl.com/fmro5, nut it seems
a bit old. I downloaded: VMware-server-1.0.1-29996.tar.gz from the VMware
site, and was able to get the installer to run corectly (only if I took all
the defaults), up to the point that it wanted a serial number. 

Is this the wrong package? If not, where do I get a serail number? And once
I'm past that hurdle, how do I go about installing XP?
