I received a couple of responses to my questions posted here.

One followed me off list when I did not respond.

Thanks.

I did not wish to appear rude.

I had three FOSS presentations to do in 24 hours. I ended up using
windows, as I could not get Ubuntu to work with the external monitor.

So I'll go over the replies soon. I'm sure I'll need to external
monitor some time again.
