fresh install Edgy 6.10 powerpc but no boot upslash

I do have

/etc/yaboot.conf

  image=/boot/vmlinux

        label=Linux
        read-only
        initrd=/boot/initrd.img
        append="quiet splash"

What's next
still don't see boot splash
