All,
Recently my motherboard fried. I went ahead and bought one of those
cheap, MSI Motherboard. I figured, for what I do, no problem. Anyways,
the model is K8M890M2-V with an AMD 64 processor. Everything works
great after reconfiguring X. That is, but the Video board, K8M890
Chrome 9 integrated, i believe. It gets detected as generic Vesa. I
have tried compiling the
cn_cx700-cn800xorg40071-kernel-src_20061107a.tgz. i managed to compile
it, but when i restart X, all goes to hell in a hand basket. So
needless to say I backtraked to good old Vesa. I just found out about
the OpenChrome drives, and wanted to know if anybody has tried it.

i have been following the procedure to compile the drivers, but i am not
an expert.
Any help, suggestions, wild guesses are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

macario valle
