feisty issues

My machine runs great with every other ubuntu distro.
   
  Now both disks I have burned, when I boot up gives me an rdsp error.  I've tried alternative, live, nothing has changed in my bios, I have played with linux since the first red hat days.  I am stumped.  I really want to run feisty but this has been a pain in the ...
   
  Is feisty primetime?
   
  I have tried downloaded from different repositories, burn at different speeds, tried update-manager -c -d, I am befuddled.
   
  Now, the update-manager does not even show that 7.04 is available and ready to upgrade, go figure.
   
  I'm sending bug reports.
   
  Edgy still running strong though.
