Graphics Card Issues

I have been using Ubuntu now since just after the release of Breezy
Badger. For some reason, I have had issues with any and all releases
after Dapper Drake with my graphics card. Breezy and Dapper had no real
problem I could not fix, but in Edgy, adn the Beta of Fiesty, my
graphics card was not supported. IN lspci, it shows that my graphics
card is: Trident Microsystems XGI Volari XP5. However, no matter which
one I choose, Ubuntu does not display. I have tried every supported
graphics card in the xserver-xorg selection, and none of them work. 

Will it be supported in the newer releases, or is there something i am
missing that I should do, or a specific card I should use to have it
work. I would love to be able to use the newer releases and not be so
far behind.
