Thunderbird 2 in repositories

Hello!

I tried Thunderbird 2 by extracting to /opt/ directory archive 
downloaded from mozilla web site and I renamed old Thunderbird 1.5 
profile so that Thunderbird 2 recognize it. The program freezes nearly 
every time I minimize it or sometimes without any visible reason. Don't 
you have the same behaviour with  Thunderbird 2 compiled following 
directions from the link below?
What can be reason, that Thunderbird 2 freezes? Thunderbird 1.5 from 
Ubuntu repositories works fine at the same time.
