sound issue on Win XP VMware image running on Feisty

I have recently switched my DELL Latitude D600 from Win XP to Ubuntu
Feisty Fawn 7.04

Everything's fine except I should have chosen a dual boot since I
realize now that I sometimes need to run softwares that are only
available on Windows. Too late for that.

Thus I chose to install VMWare server (1.0.4) and get an XP
professional running as a VMWare client.

I had no sound issues using Win XP before the switch
I still have no sound issues when running sounds on Ubuntu

The only issue I have is that The XP VMware client was not able to
detect any sound device :)

I am not sure whether this Ubuntu list is the right place to address
this, but I would like to get sound both on the Ubuntu host (it works
fine) AND in the Win XP client (not working)

Could you help me on this ? or even redirect me to a more specific
VMWare pointer ?


PS : I tried to downlad and install an AC97 XP driver on my XP VMware
client, but still no sound device is detected...:(
