LVM question

I've just had to rebuild a machine from Edgy to Fiesty. The machine had a 3
volume LVM group. I installed lvm from apt on the new machine copied over
/etc/lvm from a backup, but when i try to mount the LVM I get:

root at amanda:~# mount -a
mount: special device /dev/mapper/vg00-lvol00 does not exist

What am I doing wrong?
