Memory would be my guess.

On a 2.4Ghz/1Gb FF takes 5 sec
On a 800Mhz/128Mb FF takes 1 minute 4 sec (new install still haven't put
in 145 updates)
On a 2.4Ghz/512Mb FF takes 8-9 sec
On a 1Ghz/640Mb FF takes 6 sec

As you can probably guess... I'm still on my first cup of coffee this
morning & haven't got anything better to do than to time FF startups :-)
