Firefox waving when moving the page up and down

Hi,
Yesterday I reinstalled my system and I had a trouble, when I used firefox
the page was waving when I moved it up or down. It did the same with the
synaptic, package manager and mozilla. I was going to install again (ubuntu
6.10) but it did the same with my dvd install. I installed ubuntu 7.10 and
everything is normal. Does everybody know why firefox was waving instead of
scrolling? and why that would also do it with the dvd? Before I reinstall
(completely wipe the hard drive) firefox was working with Ubuntu 6.10 and
that wasn't one of my computer troubles, so I was wondering what caused some
of my applications to wave instead of scroll.
